Grand Fond runs along the southeastern coast of Saint Barth, between Morne Rouge and Toiny, facing an open and powerful ocean.
Swimming is not advised here: you come for the cliffs, the rock formations and the swell that surfers and bodyboarders come looking for.
From Toiny, a coastal path leads in about fifteen minutes to natural pools carved into the rock, one of the finest walks on the island.
The quarter is residential and preserved, ten minutes from Saint Jean and under fifteen from Gustavia, which makes it far more accessible than it looks.
