Overview
Villa Manoir de Lorient stands steps from Lorient beach, St Barth, with seven bedrooms for fourteen guests. The main house is an eighteenth century Normandy manor, taken apart and rebuilt on the island in the nineteen eighties.
The setting and the view
The property sits in the village of Lorient, within a landscaped tropical garden. It unfolds on one level across several buildings and pavilions, linked by a long mirror pool. The result reads as much as an old manor as a Caribbean hamlet.
The living spaces
The kitchen is built for a chef. The living areas are air conditioned, fitted with flat screens and a centralised sound system.
Outside, the large heated pool takes the centre of the estate, framed by the pavilions and the garden. Terraces and pathways connect the buildings to one another.
The bedrooms
The seven bedrooms are spread through the garden pavilions, with king or twin beds, one of them sharing its bathroom with another.
Each has a dressing room, air conditioning and a spacious bathroom, some with an outdoor shower. That pavilion layout leaves everyone their privacy, even with a full house.
Around the villa
Lorient beach, its shops and its surf break are a few steps away. Parking is on the property.
