Villa Belle Etoile overlooks the lagoons of Grand Cul de Sac and Petit Cul de Sac from the heights of Dévé in St. Barths. The villa sleeps ten in five en suite bedrooms, set in separate bungalows around a heated pool almost a hundred feet long.

Setting and views

A palm-lined path leads to the entrance, and the house opens straight onto the island's east coast: both lagoons, the islets offshore and the ocean out to the horizon. The terrace faces the sunrise over the lagoons, while the other side of the property backs onto a dense tropical garden that keeps the villa completely private.

Living spaces

The infinity-edge pool runs the full length of the wooden deck, with loungers on either side and, at the far end, a shaded daybed under a gazebo that seems to float on the water. The air-conditioned living room faces the ocean through wide sliding glass doors, decorated in black and white with clean lines, and a hanging daybed sits between the living and dining areas. The fully equipped kitchen is built around a large island next to a table that seats ten. The villa also has an air-conditioned gym, a hot tub, a Sonos sound system, a powder room for guests and private parking.

Bedrooms

Every bedroom is air-conditioned and has its own private terrace facing the ocean. The primary suite occupies a bungalow of its own near the gym, with a dressing area, a bathroom with a soaking tub and a rain shower, and a private garden with the hot tub. The four other suites share a second building on the far side of the living room, two on the main level and two on the lower level. Each has a king four-poster bed in black and an en suite bathroom with a shower, and two of them connect, which works well for families with young children.

Around the villa

Dévé is a quiet residential area on the east coast. The beaches of Petit Cul de Sac and Grand Cul de Sac are a five-minute drive away, Saint Jean and the airport about fifteen minutes, and Gustavia twenty, which makes this five-bedroom villa in Dévé an easy base for exploring the whole island.
