Villa Henson sits on the western slope of Colombier in St. Barths, at the end of a private road. This two-bedroom villa sleeps four and looks out over 180 degrees of Caribbean Sea, from the entrance of Gustavia harbor to Saba and St. Martin, with the sunset straight ahead.

Setting and views

The house stands alone on its hillside, on a family estate above the island's leeward coast, and the only thing in sight from the terrace is the roof of one other house. On a clear day the horizon lines up St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Eustatius, Saba and St. Martin. Yachts anchor in the water below, the sailing regattas pass right in front of the villa in March, and evenings are spent watching the sun go down, often between Saba and St. Martin.

Living spaces

The living room, about 650 square feet under a high white timber roof, opens through three large sliding doors, two of them onto the terrace. It brings together a bar facing the sunset, a media area with surround sound and a kitchen renovated in 2021, fully equipped around a large island where you can also eat indoors, and the whole house is air-conditioned. Outside, the covered terrace has a dining table, an outdoor sofa and a ceiling fan, with sun loungers, a hammock and a gas grill with a plancha along the deck. The heated infinity pool is lit in color at night, and the hot tub, set apart at the edge of the hillside, looks out over the sea and four islands.

Bedrooms

Each bedroom is named after the island it sees from the bed, Saba and St. Eustatius. Both open onto the pool terrace and have a queen canopy bed, air conditioning, a TV and a safe, with an en suite shower room featuring a large walk-in shower and double sinks. Both stay open for every booking, whether for a couple or for two couples traveling together.

Around the villa

Corossol beach is a three-minute drive, the airport seven minutes, Gustavia eight and Saint Jean nine. Flamands beach is a few minutes away, and from the end of its road a shaded trail of about twenty minutes leads down to Colombier beach, reachable only on foot or by boat.
